Eastern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited (APEPDCL) Visakhapatnam has been awarded for Gold shields for Best Performance under Distribution Company Performance Award and Rural Distribution Franchisee Award for recognizing its meritorious performance of Power Utility During the year 2007-08 in entire all Indian Power Utilities. In this regard we have received a Fax message from Joint Secretary, Govt of India, Ministry of Power, New Delhi.

The above annual awards have been instituted by Ministry of Power, with a view to inculcate a competitive Spirit to motive to achieve a High level performance among the Power Distribution Companies. The evaluations are carried out by Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

Further it is another great achievement of this Company that two M/s Mandal Mahila Samaykhyas under this company has been selected for Bronze and Gold Shield Awards for Rural Distribution Franchisee Performance Award. Mandal Mahila Samykhya, Kurapam of Vizianagaram has been selected for Gold and Mandal Mahila Samakhya, Paderu of Visakhapatnam District has been selected for Bronze shield.

The above Awards will be presented by Hon’ble President of India at Vigyna Bhawan, New Delhi on 17th Feb 2009. Sri Sutirtha Bhattacharya, I.A.S, CMD, AP Transco, Hyderabad and Sri N.Gulzar, I.A.S., Chairman and Managing Director of this Company will personally attend this function along with two selective persons of M/s Mandal Mahila Samakhya for receiving the above Awards. In this regard the CMD has extended his heartiest congratulations to all of his employees who are the real heroes of this Award and asked them to extend their cooperation in future also.
